Reconnecting with CRSF

Hello Campbell River Salmon Foundation supporters and friends!

We know it has been way too long since we’ve all been able to connect and celebrate salmon and our community of supporters and friends, and we miss you! Campbell River Salmon Foundation’s annual fundraiser was such a stellar event for all of us to dress up, gather, raise money for salmon enhancement projects, and revel in the good times of being together. Thank you to each and everyone of you who has been part of those events in the past – and know that we will host celebrations again when we can! As a volunteer board of directors, we’ve been trying to stay up to date on project needs and connect with partner organizations to keep salmon healthy in these chaotic times, but we know there are more of you out there who are doing good work and could likely use our help.

Please reach out to any of our board members personally (if you already know someone), or send a note to me, Laurel Sliskovic (I’m the new President!), if you want to learn more about CRSF, the projects we fund, and/or the events we host. You can fill out a funding request online (for asks of up to $5000), or download and complete the longer form if you’re looking for more than $5000 in funding support. We’re also very interested in fundraising for a large, long-term, big-impact salmon enhancement project, so we’re reaching out to other local organizations for ideas and invite you to connect with us if you have an idea that aligns with our goals!

Earlier this year, we partnered with CanadaHelps, which is a national charity that is dedicated to helping Canadian charities (like the Campbell River Salmon Foundation!), expand their fundraising efforts and create more awareness about the not-for-profit sector in this country. We encourage anyone who has pulled a salmon out of the rivers or ocean to donate back to the organizations who are promoting and working towards better natural habitats for salmon to thrive. Salmon are mighty creatures, but the pressure on their habitats and ecosystems is considerable and they are under constant threat from all sorts of human activity. You can donate securely and directly via the form on our website and thank you in advance for your contribution.

And as you can see, we’ve updated our website and logo, so look for our new swag out in the community and let us know if you’re interested in sporting what we’re selling!

Our first fundraiser of 2021 will launch June 8 and we’ll be sending details out via email at the end of May. If you haven’t already signed up for our newsletter, please do so and/or send a note to info@crsalmonfoundation.ca and we’ll put you on the list!

Thanks to all the generous Campbell River Salmon Foundation supporters and welcome to all of you who are new to our community!
